JIMMY PENGUIN - PERFECT K.O. 12"

Jimmy Penguin needs little introduction — founder of Community Skratch Games and Skratchlords, author of countless albums, productions and masters, creator of many musical aliases and bands, and winner of international turntablism battles, he has had a huge impact on scratch music and beyond.
He is also a legend of the Street Fighter e-sports scene.

"Perfect K.O." is all of Jimmy's creative energy packed into one incredibly refined vinyl record!
Ten years of experience designing and producing skipless records went into this turntablist tool.

There is no other scratch record with this many features and this level of craft — the lacquers were cut by hand by Henry Bainbridge of Dubstudio (Bristol).

Side A:

• 15 tracks of original skipless samples
• Extra bonus grooves between every track
• A drum skratching section
• A locked drum break loop
• A unique set of tones in locked grooves, arranged in an ascending scale and processed to recreate the 5 sound channels of the Ricoh 2A03 chip used in the NES console. These tones are designed to match side B, which is in the key of C.

Side B:

A record, an instrument, a sequencer and a synthesizer all at once.
It has 35 separate locked loops, all synced to a common start point (for visual cueing) and grouped by theme:

• Drums,
• Drum loops,
• Chords and arpeggios,
• Tones.

The whole side is built on the same root note (C), so everything fits together — whatever speed you play it at.

Plus:

• The engraving on side A doesn't just look great — it is synced to the sample layout, so you can pinpoint sounds precisely (every 1/16 of a rotation).
• The design gives the DJ extra precision in practice and performance.
• The five characters on the record are the fighters Jimmy plays in Street Fighter tournaments.
